Massacre of Twilight
Patch day came and it was surprisingly smooth. 3 of us decided to just pop our head into the new raid and see what it looked like. We 3 manned the first trash pack before a couple more joined......then a few more........and before you know it we had the makings of a functioning raid
What's the worse that could happen? Well how about this a few minutes later:
This fight is really easy requiring skills we all learned a long time ago. With 9 men 1 of which was a freshly dinged 85 we got him to 7%. This doesn't mean it is a bad thing though I quite enjoyed it, moreso because none of us had seen any video's beforehand we just read the dungeon journal and improvised.
Off to the next boss to see what happens:
Again, no video's watched beforehand. We wiped a couple of times finding out which of the oozes needed to die was all. Very fun fight indeed needing you to think on your feet.
We went to the 2nd boss and called it a night after wiping a couple of times as it had already gone midnight. but not before planning a last minute raid for the following night.
Next day and Warlord Zon'ozz required a bit more effort. We tried at first just using single melee dps to just bounce the ball into him using a damage reduction cooldown but it was quicky apparent this wasn't going to cut it (when we hit a berserk timer that we didn't know about), eventually we figured out to split into 2 groups and try and build some stacks up by bouncing it between them and it worked fantastically:
Very fun fight indeed but I can imagine it being difficult without voice communication. Very unforgiving if your coordination is bad
Finally we went to fight the 4th boss which we all assumed to be Ultraxion as he is on the map and were surprised when we got sent to the Eye of Eternity and an ugly hag turned up, she didn't last very long either even with nobody knowing anything about her:
This fight is amazing, we were even laughing at points it was so much fun. Definately my favorite of the first half of the instance.
Overall I am completely impressed by the zone. While it is quite easy I love the fact that all the information we needed was in the dungeon journal and most of all the fights concentrate on you being good at your character, not some bullshit gimmick that you will never see again like Ryoloth or Alysrazor that causes more stress than laughs (no laughs in fact).
We moved on to Ultraxion and he messed us up pretty bad, no idea how the buffs work yet they just seem to be given out at certain times but I'm sure once we get a little more practice he will hit the dust. I would ask that any Immortals would skip watching video's though as it's been fantastic the way we have all pooled our ideas to take these bosses down
ONWARD!
Ragnaros 0 - 2 Immortal
Immortal managed to kill Staghelm the week after all the other kills, I didn't bother posting the screen shot because he is ridiculously easy and it would feel like false bravado.
However his big fiery boss is still no walk in the park, but after sitting back and fine tuning our tactics Immortal managed to down him in a flawless kill. The hardest thing about this fight is obviously the final phase, and like nefarian it was difficult just getting to the final phase to practice so perfecting the tactics was a little drawn out as we only raid around 4 hours a week.
REBORN LIKE A PHEONIX.....which we then killed
Summer is over so Immortal has gone back to doing what it does best, downing bosses.
Alysrazor has been hit seriously hard by the nerf bat, you can actually run faster than the inner fire wall during the whilrwind phase and half the time the damage dealers were standing about waiting for something to smack, as a result she went down very fast even with a few people new to the encounter.
Baeleroc was completely new to everyone but he also didn't prove a problem, definately an interesting fight and I look forward to getting a chance to heal it to see the "real" part of the encounter.
Immortal Burns it up and Burns Out
Ryoloth bit the dust a couple of days after Beth'tilac, but I've been a little lazy with updating the main page. Overall he is an interesting fight but it's a little annoying how RNG it can be with where the volcanos come up. Personally I found it more stressful than fun, even after the changes were implemented.
Unfortunately it also seems the summer bug has really come into effect the last few weeks with a massive amount of the raiding team taking breaks. So this could be the last boss Immortal downs for a while.
Immortal Burns up the Firelands!
Firelands dropped this week, and so did Shannox and Beth'Tilac.
Neither of the 2 bosses seemed particularly hard, Shannox just required a little organisation and Beth'Tilac timed AoE. Everything else was raiding by numbers.
Next up Lord Ryolith, now repeat after me......Leeeefffttttt foot, riiigggghhhhtt foot, leeeefffttttt foot, riiigggghhhhtt foot.
Nefarian dead - 10man raid content cleared!
Nefarian have finally been vanquished by Immortal.
It was a tough and difficult fight and it took a good amount of tries to get it down.
We even had thouse famous low percentage tries, where it basically should have been killed.
This mean Immortal have killed the last boss in the Cataclysm start content, and we can start to focus more on the heroic versions and get to the real final boss which is Sinestra.
Good job to everybody who made this happen and to everybody in Immortal!
Al'Akir the Windlord dead!
The second end boss of the Cataclysm first tier raids have been killed, Al'Akir.
The whole fight is based on skill and movement, so the fight is not that difficult but it just requires a lot of practice so everybody can learn the things to avoid and dodge.
Overall a great kill and some bad loot, but atleast this opens up for heroic version of TotFW.
First heroic boss down!
We just killed our first heroic boss, which were Halfus Wyrmbreaker.
The difference between normal and heroic is that on heroic you will have all the dragons active. The fight itself wern't particular hard, it just required a lot of practice and overall the fight got easier as the dragons get killed.
Good job - Expect more heroic kills to come!
Cho'gall dead - Bastion of Twilight cleared!
Cho'gall the first mayor endboss of the Cataclysm expansion have fallen to Immortal and we have conquered the normal version of the Bastion of Twilight.
A great fight which both required good add-control, tank cordination, and a fine execution in the end phase. Overall did the fight not take many tries to get the kill, but the planning required some extra thoughts.
The hardmode should be open now, and we can venture in again and try the real deal of these fights, and even unlock the real final boss which will be Sinestra.
Excellent job everybody in Immortal!
Julak-Doom defeated!
Julak who?
Yes one of our members suddenly discovered a world boss was up in Twilight Highlands, and we decided to make a little raid of 11 people to take him down.
Now Julak-Doom is like the other world-bosses in Cataclysm not really considered a boss like Kazzak or one of the Dragons of Nightmare were back in the days, but nevertheless was it still a challenging fight, if not for his abilities then from the constant interfeering from the Horde.
But after 20 minutes of fighting we managed to kill him, and also like 10 dozens of horde too.
Awesome everybody who joined for the fun.
